Security Supervisor
Reports to: Hospital Administrator
Location: Kampala
Job Summary: Coordinate Mengo Hospital Security procedures to ensure a safe and secure Environment for the property and wellbeing of the Hospital staff and patients while on the Hospital premises.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the Hospital Security procedures to ensure a safe and secure Environment.
• Organize and implement proper plans/ job deployment to ensure coverage of Security in all Hospital premises.
• Liaise with External Security Companies to provide additional security services to the Hospital.
• Ensure that Security guards on duty are supervised on a 24-hour basis.
• Carry out appraisals on the performance of Security Guards on a regular basis and provide feedback to the Supervisor accordingly.
• Monitor the team's activities on the ground and train them to interact properly with visitors, vendors, and employees.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports as required.
• Ensure staffing, scheduling and on-site training of Security Guards.
• Conduct investigations into fraud and other crime committed or about to be committed on the Hospital premises and recommend course of action to Management.
• Liaise with relevant Security Organs outside the Hospital (Uganda Police, Security Officers from other Organization and Informants) on various Security related issues.
• Ensure proper arrangements for Security and Patrols on the Hospital premises.
• Attend court and provide evidence whenever called to do so.
• Ensure that all security Guards follow the laid down procedures and are courteous to customers as they enforce Hospital Regulations and procedures.
• Advise management on any security related issues.
• Perform any other duties incidental to the above assigned from time to time by the Head of department and or the Hospital Management.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Diploma in Management or any other relevant field in addition to Security training
• Former staff of Police, Army or recognised Security companies are encouraged to apply and proof of service is required.
• Police clearance/ Certificate of Good Conduct is a must.
• Fluency in Swahili will be an added advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer care, leadership and report writing skills.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant working experience in a similar role in a busy setting.
• Computer literacy especially Microsoft Office programs.
Must be between 35 - 45 years of age.
