Reporting To Senior Librarian
Job Purpose Conduct research, publish, supervise and carry out other academic activities as a contribution to the Academic growth of the University
Key, Duties and Responsibilities
1. Participate in development of subject librarians in the different disciplines;
2. Write library projects and writing periodic project reports;
3. Implement related projects and ensure that targets are adhered to;
4. Mentor Junior library staff;
5. Conduct academic research in Library related subject area;
6. Contribute to growth of the profession and discipline working hand in with the library research and ethics committee;
7. Participate in academic teaching and contribute to designing relevant course content/curriculum review;
8. Provide secretariat services to the library and ethics committee;
9. Perform any other related duty as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
i. Must have PhD in Library and information Science or Information Systems or Information Technology from a recognized institution;
ii. Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (LIS) or Information Systems or Information Technology from a recognized institution;
iii. Honours Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science (LIS) or Information Systems or Information Technology from a recognized institution
Experience Should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant professional working experience from a reputable Education institution

i. Should have effective communication skills
ii. Proficient in Computer systems including use of email and internet
iii. Integrity
iv. Ability to work with teams
v. Quick judgement and decision making
vi. Ability to initiate change
Tenure of Appointment Permanent
