DEED
Microfinance Limited (DML) is a company limited by shares incorporated in 2015.
The objective of the company is to establish and run a leading Microfinance
institution in Uganda. The company
provides services to clients within the Republic of Uganda and is regulated by
the Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority (UMRA). DML wishes to invite applicants who meet the job requirements
of an accountant.
KEY PERFOMANCE INDICATORS OF THE JOB
a. Tiitle: Accountant
b. Reports to: Credit Manager
c. Location: Head office
d. Duration: Two years renewable
i. Record all financial transactions (such as receipts, expenses and loan disbursements) in their respective prime books of entry
ii. Review and update ledger accounts periodically
iii. Carry out bank reconciliations periodically.
iv. Generate periodic financial reports for decision making.
v. Preparation of staff salaries subject to laws of Uganda
vi. Support Management in preparation of annual budgets and periodic management accounts.
vii. Manage petty cash and prepare daily cash summary reports for liquidity planning and management.
viii. Conduct timely filing and remittance of statutory obligations i.e., PAYE, WHT and LST
ix. Promote adherence to internal controls, policies, procedures and standards at all times.
x. Support internal and external audits by availing necessary documents to ensure compliance and completeness of all transactions of DML
xi. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
3. QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting and Finance and any accounts related course working experience in a financial institution is an added advantage.
4. EXPERIENCE
At least 2 years working experience in an accounts related role.
5. COMPETENCIES
Analytical skills, Risk awareness, Communication, Financial management and Supervisory skills
