In order to achieve the above objectives, Hima Cement limited seeks to recruit a motivated and competent Shift Coordinator as indicated below;

Job Summary;
To adhere to health, safety and environmental guidelines outlined in group standards, and plant operation procedures to ensure the plant operation within the established parameters, co-ordinate the production activities and manage his/her team within the shift in order to achieve the production, quality, Safety and Environment targets, organize all the activities on the running plant with the others departments in order to meet the plant objectives.
The job holder reports to the Production Superintendent and is responsible for managing the shift operations and material availability inclusive biomass & traditional fuels.

The scope includes:
• Adhere to maintenance schedule to address the production bottlenecks so as to achieve volumes, costs, meet product deadlines and product compliance.
• Ensures skilled production team through people competence gap analysis
• Ensure good atmosphere and coordination within the teams and other departments
• Guarantee the safety of the equipment and people on duty.
• Guarantee the compliance with the Group environment standards in his field of activities.
• Manage shift operations and material availability inclusive biomass & traditional fuels
• Mitigate against identified risks e.g. Falling from height, Moving belt conveyor, Belt tension failure, Suspended load, Chain movement, gas & welding fumes, electrocution, electric sparks, tools

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Guarantee and enhance compliance with OH&S policies and standards for shift team.
• Demonstrate strong H&S leadership to develop safety culture among shift team.
• Identify and tackle specific actions to ensure health and safety prevention during production activities.
● Manage and improve the performance of the shift teams ensuring competencies and skills development.
● Support and actively develop team members.
• Plan and organize shift activities to meet product quantities, within the quality requirements, according to budget and considering AFR / TSR.
• Organize and manage shifts of production staff.
• Coordinate with plant stakeholders to plan maintenance activities to fulfill market requests and ensure customer orientation of shift team.
● Monitor performance of the shift in order to reach, or exceed production targets, and to achieve quality and environmental standards.
● In collaboration with relevant functions (Maintenance, Process, Quality ...) implement actions to improve operations performance.
● Manage execution of third parties under its responsibility (e.g. housekeeping, handling, refractory works ...)
● Manage shift organisation to optimize costs, e.g. shift organisation, overtime, vacation, etc.
● Support all functions on stock management.
• Prepare management reports covering all process KPI’s in order to facilitate management decision making.
• Identify and communicate operational bottlenecks, provide technical requirements and follow-up technical execution.
• Communicate and implement regulations, company goals, local permits, policies and procedures within shift team.
• Optimize the internal processes and structures and align it with other shifts.
• Ensure compliance for related activities to ISO, H&S standards, sustainability, etc
• Comply with Environmental Rules and Regulations as per Lafarge environmental standards and local regulations
• Drive & support digitalization for improved visibility and utilization across all processes e.g Mobile App for WBI, TIS mobile and HLC


Required Qualifications skills and attributes.
Educational requirements
• Bachelor degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or Science
• 3 years’ experience in an industrial set up.
• Good knowledge of health, safety and environment regulations and rules applicable in an industrial setting
• Good knowledge of cement manufacturing processes: raw meal preparation, burning, combustion, grinding
• Good knowledge of control tools and instruments i.e operation logic, regulation modes and systems
