Position Overview:
Led by Management Sciences for Health (MSH), the new USAID funded Uganda Strengthening Supply Chain Systems (SSCS) Technical Assistance Activity supports self-sustaining, responsive, uninterrupted, accountable delivery of quality-assured medicines and supplies to public and Private-Not-For-Profit (PNFP) health facilities. Building on more than a decade of experience of strengthening supply chain in Uganda, USAID/SSCS Activity plans to equip districts and 350 health facilities with computers and networking equipment to support installation, digitization and linkage of electronic logistics management information systems (eLMIS) to the national Pharmaceutical Information Portal (PIP) and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system at National Medical Stores (NMS) to improve health commodity data management, supply chain data visibility and reporting. USAID/SSCS Activity seeks to recruit three (3) ICT support staff to support computer setup and configuration, installation, and customization of health facility and district stores eLMIS and linkage to the PIP.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The IT Support staff will be responsible for providing technical assistance to install, setup and configure computer systems, networking equipment and electronic Logistics Management Information Systems (eLMIS).

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that all the computers are installed and configured to support COVID Vaccination at the district stores.
• Ensure that all computers are fully installed with necessary software, including support tools and software, and ready for deployment at respective locations
• Ensure that district and health computers are installed with eLMIS to enable commodity data management and reporting
• Ensure that health facilities eLMIS are synchronizing stock status data to the Pharmaceutical Information Portal (PIP)
• Build the capacity of the regional implementing partners IP’s to support the districts and the health facilities.
• Ensure that all networking equipment for the district and health facilities are fully installed, configured and ready for deployment at respective locations


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Installation, setup, and configuration of district and health facility computers (25%)
Install, setup and configure necessary computer hardware and Operating system
2. Install, setup and configure eLMIS on district and health facility computers (25%)
• Install, setup/customize, and configure eLMIS on district and health facility computers
3. Link districts and HFs to the PIP (25%)
• Setup RxSyncApp at district and HFs to enable linkage and stock status data synchronization to the PIP
4. Install, setup and configure networking equipment (25%)
• Install, and configure networking equipment for district and HFs, including Wi-Fi setup and security
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Software Engineering/Information Technology/Pharmacy or a related field
• 2 – 4 Years of experience

Knowledge & Experience:
• Computer installation and setup (Software and hardware)
• Knowledge on Networking computing devices
• Computer installation and setup (Software and hardware)
• Knowledge on Networking computing devices
• Knowledge of electronic logistics management information systems (preferably RxSolution)
