Position: IT Intern
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Position Overview
This is an experiential learning role that provides learning opportunity in supporting the IT Team and the business in maintaining and supporting end-users and general IT support for the center.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the development, implementation, and administration of all IT.
• Perform Project management of IT initiatives.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of technology products and services.
• Manage multiple areas of technology and multiple departments.
• Oversee hiring, staffing, training, disciplining and performance appraisals.
• Preparation and management of operating and capital budgets.
• Oversee new system facilitation, current system enhancements.
• Manage internal/external application upgrades.
• Define and improve all system and network operations processes.
• Negotiate contracts with manufacturers for all software, hardware and consulting services.
• Create strategic goals and convert to easily implemented plans.
• Manage external vendor’s relationships and services.
• Person Specifications Academic Qualifications
• Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT
• Professional IT certificates as requirements
• Experience Requirement:
• Computer hardware and software systems and programs
• Computer networks, network administration, Network installation
• Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role
• Computer trouble shooting
• Personal Attributes
• Demonstrate high levels of integrity.
• Ability to communicate both inside and outside the organization, Formal presentation.
• Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize.
• Quality work output contributes to team success, initiating action, applied learning.
• Seeks continuous learning.
• Able to organize and manage large amounts of tasks, schedules, and information Hunger to prove the ability of selling and servicing a customer.
