Overview
Save the Children is seeking job applications for a Program Officer – Nutrition for a WFP- funded, implementing quality Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN) and Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP) sites activities at the health facilities in Rhino Camp/Omugo settlement. The Program Officer Nutrition will work with Save the Children’s field office to ensure the prevention of stunting among children from 6 to 23 months and pregnant and lactating women in respect to the WFP standards and the increase of attendance for MNCH services and adequate and quality management of moderate acute malnutrition cases among children from 6 to 59 months and pregnant and lactating women, in respect to the IMAM guidelines and WFP standards.
Essential:
• Degree in nutrition with minimum two years working experience with NGOs.
• Working experience of one year in IMAM or Maternal and Child Health program.
• Experience in nutrition program and community work.
• Experience in training of volunteers on IMAM program.
• Good relations with other people.
• Good capacity to work in a team and flexibility.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good writing and presentation skills
• English fluency (verbal and written) required and local language (preferred)
• Experience working in a refugee context.
• Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must.
Desirable
• Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities.
• Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively with partners.
• Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
• Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.
