Job Description:
Maintain employee relations and welfare of Pride’s staff through counseling of staff and handling employee disciplinary concerns and grievances.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement an appropriate employee relations strategy, policies, procedures and welfare systems to motivate staff.
• Implement an approved welfare scheme for Pride.
• Work closely with the Head Human Capital Management to plan and ensure the provision of adequate welfare services and facilities.
• Advise employees on HR policies and legislations.
• Administer the company’s disciplinary and ethical code of conduct.
• Circulate the ethical code of conduct to staff members at least twice a year.
• Administer the company’s disciplinary code of conduct.
• Set up and carry out disciplinary committee hearing to address the issues at hand.
• Communicate and implement Disciplinary Hearing decisions.
• Promptly handle employee grievances and harmonise industrial relations by counseling staff.
• Ensure harmonious industrial relations among employees.
• Organise counseling sessions as and when staff issues are reported.
• Participate in the review of compensation packages and other benefits available to employees of Pride.
• Participate in the review of compensation packages and present to the Head of Human Capital Management.
• Review compensation packages like per diem, day allowances and PBIS.
• Review payroll before payment
• Maintain the job evaluation system by ensuring that job descriptions are kept up to date and jobs graded and acquire approval.
• Monitor staff job satisfaction and motivation trends by undertaking organisational climate analysis every year.
• Carry out annual employee satisfaction surveys, prepare and disseminate reports.
• Ensure availability of systems that help mange employer/ employee relationships across the organisation.
• Manage the health and safety policy as well as the HIV/AIDS policy functions of the institution to enable employees gain awareness of their rights.
• Manage the health and safety and HIV/AIDS policy function.
• Set up health and safety committees,
• Continuously sensitise employees of their rights.
• Assist in activities to enhance the employer/employee relation at Pride.
• Participate in the recruitment and induction programs of new staff.
• Participate in strengthening HR systems and practices of Pride by carrying out reviews of the HR systems and practices and recommend interventions.
• Develop and implement HR initiatives and interventions as agreed upon by organising cultural days and workshops.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, Guidance. Industrial and Organisation Psychology and any related field.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and any other related field.
• Master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage.
• At least four years working experience in a related field
