Job Description:
Drive growth of the business and profitability of the branch by developing and implementing strategies and plans and offering excellent customer services while maintaining a high level of compliance.
Duties And Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategies for the business growth of the branch.
• Chair branch credit committee meetings for all loans as per policy.
• Take a lead role in the recruitment, formation and retention of clients into the Market Enterprise Committee (MECs) and the Individual Loan Scheme.
• Mobilise branch staff to collectively recover written-off loans.
• Monitor branch operations and ensure customers are promptly attended to and served efficiently, solicit customer feedback and assess whether the businessis run in a prescribed manner.
• Monitor closely all loan repayments and loan insurance fund mobilisation to ensure early problem recognition and response.
• Ensure compliance with Pride’s policies and procedures, BOU guidelines and other applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitor transactions to ensure compliance to applicable policies, laws and guidelines.
• Ensure all VSP, MEC and Individual Loan Scheme accounts and records are maintained in accordance with the accounting and Credit Policies and are in safe custody.
• Maintain close contact with banking authorities and ensure proper branch banking procedures and end-of-day cash balances for each transaction.
• Ensure that the right procedures are followed when clients are presenting their securities.
• Respond to audit findings and act accordingly.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports on activities in the branch.
• Observe deadlines and ensure all reports are dispatched to respective departments on time.
• Ensure prompt, careful reporting and conveyance of all Pride/Client funds to the treasury/local depository institution and the Finance department.
• Manage and coordinate all administrative and staff activities at the branch, manage the leave schedule for all staff.
• Supervise, appraise, coach, mentor and build capacity of subordinate staff.
• Manage staff leave in accordance with the master leave schedule and human resource policies.
• Monitor the security of the branch to ensure security measures are enforced at all times.
• Maintain proper security over the Pride office, documents and assets and ensure that each respective staff is security alert.
• Ensure safety of cash in transit to and from branches.
• Check physical attendance and register of security guards.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Microfinance, and Business Administration or any relevant/related field.
• At least 4 years' working experience in a similar position for external applicants, at least 3 years' work experience as Operations Supervisor, Compliance Officer, Credit Supervisor and at least 4 years' working as a Credit Officer for internal staff.
• He / she should not be more than 40 years of age.
