Job Details:

CESVI is an International Non-Governmental Organization mandated to work in emergency, recovery and development settings. CESVI’s mission is to transform into action the concept of ‘human solidarity and social justice into humanitarian aid and development initiatives for the affirmation of universal human rights’.
CESVI has been operational in Uganda since 2001 and is currently working in partnership among others with the WFP; implementing Livelihood, Food security, COVID19 emergency responses and General Food Assistance programs in the humanitarian context of Palabek settlement, Lamwo district. CESVI is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill the following positions

Purpose of Position
To carryout general food distribution and deliver complementary/crosscutting interventions to refugees in palabek settlement.

Major Responsibilities
• Carryout food collector admission and exit at the entry and exit locations to facilitate adequate data management.
• Facilitate and support the prepackaging of various food commodities; right rations/weights, quality and commodity handling.
• Support FMCs, CMCs, RWCS and casual labourers to ensure optimal adherence to distribution protocols and guidelines within the FDP and distribution corridors.
• Participate in the sensitization, mobilization and community engagement in relating to general food assistance. This may require your ability to ride a motorcycle
• Ensure that protection and gender issues are streamlined along the food distribution corridors and process flows both outside and inside the FDPs (Support PSNs, promote dignity, etc).
• Take active roles in the management of food commodities to eliminate or reduce losses and wastage, promote commodity tracking amongst other food management requirements.
• Facilitate and actively participate in activities aimed at maintaining the neatness of the FDP and its surrounding, equipment and NFIs amongst others
• Actively participate in the implementation of cross cutting and Complementary activities to GFA as will be implemented from time to time (CBT/market strengthening, Protection and Gender, Accountability to affected persons, Food security and Nutrition sensitive interventions, and Environmental and climate resilience interventions).
• Proactively seek and take up practical opportunities to build personal capacity required to deliver and in turn build the capacity of the POCs in a broad scope of complementary and cross cutting interventions.
• Be proactively dynamic in taking up and performing with dedication all assignments that may arise within the organisation’s scope from time to time.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University. Relevant experience may substitute for academic qualifications.
• Qualifications and experience in Agricultural (Animal and Crop), Economic, Cash based transfers and financial literacy may provide an added advantage.
• Must have excellent planning, organizing skills, problem solving and experience in implementation of good systems to track commodities transactions and accountability.
• Requires excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to speak luo and Arabic is a desirable capacity.
• Proven ability in relating with communities and local governmental authorities.
• Able to work in demanding environment and adaptable to rapidly changing contexts.
• Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit
