Position: Animal Feed Sales Representative
Reports To: Head Of Animal Feed

Job Summary
The job holder will be responsible for developing and executing ways to increase sales and revenue from new and existing market segments and channels in the feed industry. He or she will participate in face to face and remote selling to our new and existing customers. Furthermore, the job holder must be a results-oriented professional who will help assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services and solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities
• To monitor and track customer performance
• Weekly and monthly tracking of sales made
• Developing and increasing sales through new & existing customers and sales outlets
• Plan daily activities, including customer visits, and determine qualitative/quantitative objectives to achieve
• Build a business plan for each account, developing strong client relationships
• Product Visibility and Availability to the farmer community
• Ensure product sold in outlets is visible to the farmers by ensuring we have well placed GPL displays
• Availability is key for all these outlets so the Rep should ensure the outlets hold an agreed level of standard stock and that’s maintained through the month
• Placement of name boards to enable farmers identify these outlets and make
• GPL blends top of mind for them

• To attract, grow and retain the Customer base to include but not limited to
• Agro Retailers
• Commercial and smallholder Farmers
• Identifying Business Development opportunities
• Follow market and competitor evolution, understand your competition and which areas we can capitalize on
• Identifying product that the customers need and where it can be sourced from
• Identifying New channels that the business can start focusing on
• Prioritize market segment development activities and set revenue targets
• Participating and planning of Agricultural Events
• Manage the annual Agricultural events calendar that the business needs to participate in
• Develop a workplan of key account activities and ensure budgets are signed off before the beginning of the season.
• Manage stakeholder buy in for adequate support
• To manage customer relationship and retention of existing customers
• To compile, analyze and develop actual sales and revenue data against sales and revenue targets
• To initiate and support trade marketing activities

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• The ideal candidate must have a Bachelors degree in a Business-Related field. Possession of a Certificate in Agriculture will be an added advantage.
• In addition, he or she must have more than 3 years working experience in sales, however
• 1 year in related field will be an added advantage.
• The potential candidate must have a strong sales background with sound knowledge of livestock production and management and a thorough understanding of the local industry as well as establishing and maintaining Relationship and Customer management. He or she must have a good command of the English language and knowledge or understanding of multiple Ugandan local languages.
• In addition, the ideal candidate must possess interpersonal, accountability, communication, planning, decision making, problem-solving, selling and negotiation skills. He or she must also be adaptable, exhibit professionalism and adept time, relationship and financial management skills, have the ability to identify and troubleshoot changes in animal performance as well as record and communicate customer results.
• The job will involve extensive travel throughout the country and so the job holder must be flexible for field travel for on-farm interactions or producer facilities.
