Job Description
Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee (www.rescue.org) is a world leader in relief, rehabilitation, and post-conflict development services for those uprooted or affected by violent conflict and oppression. The IRC is currently working in over 40 countries around the world, addressing both the immediate and lifesaving needs of conflict affected people in emergencies and the reconstruction needs of post-conflict societies.
The IRC began programming in northern Uganda in 1998 in response to mass displacement and devastation wrought by rebel group, the Lord’s Resistance Army. In 2002, the IRC expanded to the remote, conflict-affected region of Karamoja and in 2011, began working with refugees in Kampala. Monitoring the influx of South Sudanese refugees at the end of 2015, the IRC began scaling up its response to refugees arriving in the West Nile region. By promoting durable solutions that deliver on the interdependent aims of saving lives, strengthening institutions, and supporting social cohesion, the IRC in Uganda is laying the building blocks for long-term stability and development - bringing people from harm to home. The IRC currently works in 9 districts in Uganda, including Kitgum, Lamwo, Kyegegwa, Moroto, Amudat, Yumbe, Arua, Kasese and Kampala. The IRC will be moving into additional/new locations in refugee settlements in Kiryandongo and Zombo.
The IRC is currently implementing its health and nutrition program in West Nile and Acholi focusing on providing primary health care services to refugees in their settlements. Similar services will be extended to the new locations starting January 2020.

Job Overview:
Supply Chain Volunteer Will Report to Supply Chain Officer. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the overall care and maintenance of the Kampala stores, Transport and Assets records. The Supply Chain Volunteer must be able to maintain impeccable Supply Chain related files and maintaining audit-compliant records.


Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the SC Officer Warehouse & Stores to ensure that stores documentation is updated in a timely manner upon receipt and issuance of items.
• All warehouse documents (Waybills, Product Receipt are filed properly in sequential order)
• Regularly audit Supplier files and make updates as soon as gaps are realized. Also print and issue vendor information forms to all incoming suppliers to be added to the INTEGRA vendor list.
• Maintain and update supplier files by ensuring filing is done correctly as per SC Records Management SOP.
• Receive and dispatch documents from the field and follow up with approvers. Ensure documentation of every document that is shared and filed for future references.
• Track all documents sent to the field.
• Assist the Supply Chain Officer with processing manual payments, recording the payments in the payments book, and ensuring the payments are submitted to finance on time.
• Assist the SC team with printing documents, scanning, and filing as and when the need arises.
• Assist the SCO-Warehouse to ensure goods, equipment is signed for received on the request form (office expendables) or waybill (all other items).
• Work with the SCO Warehouse to manage and document the receipt, handling, storage, release and reporting of goods through the IRC Kampala warehouse.
• Assist the SCO Warehouse to implement and ensure clear loading / unloading procedures, correct stacking, and turnover (FIFO) procedures.
• Where necessary organize or carry out the transportation of goods to the carrier premises for onward road shipment.
• Supervise truck loading and documentation follow up.
• Assist with stock take and stock counts.
• Manage and document the receipt, handling, storage, release and reporting of goods through the store(s).
• Receive completed store’s request forms and prepare the goods for issuance.

• Degree or Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
• Strong sense of personal integrity and commitment.

• Ability to multi-task.
• Team spirit and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of generic store management systems and forms.
• Physically mobile, able to lift 30kg without strain.
• Competent in spoken and written English
• Good mathematical skills.
• Competent in computer use and maintenance
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
