In partnership with Embassy of Ireland, Doctors with Africa CUAMM is starting a health intervention in Karamoja titled: "Strengthening district health systems for improved access to and utilisation of quality RMNCAH services in Karamoja (2021 - 2023)." This intervention will scale up and/ or complement ongoing efforts in strengthening district health systems.
The project has the following outputs:
1. Improved capacity of DHMT for data driven, evidence-based analysis, prioritization, planning and monitoring of RMNCAH and HIV integrated services;
2. Improved capacity for collection, storage, distribution and use of safe blood and blood components in the promotion of MNCH;
3. Improved functionality of neonatal care units in three hospitals:
4. Improved health provider clinical competence and skills in delivering RMNCAH, GBV and HIV integrated services;
5. Improved adolescent health interventions including uptake of modern contraceptive among sexually active adolescent and prevention of teenage pregnancies;
6. Improved community based care and bi-directional community facility linkages for integrated RMNCAH and HIV services.
2. RMNCAH Programme Advisor (1 position based in Kotido)
Function:
S/he will be the technical advisor for project activities and will work with the different DHT focal persons to ensure they provide the necessary support to peripheral facilities. S/he will work hand in hand with the DHOs and members of the DHT and ensure they deliver on the relevant technical, leadership and management functions for the success of the project. Job requirements: MBChB/BScN or equivalent health qualifications. MPH, MSc HSM, or related equivalent degrees or equivalent experience will be an added advantage. Demonstrated experience in RMNCAH/HIV programming, quality improvement initiatives, maternal neonatal care, PMTCT, knowledge of the Uganda reproductive health policy and plan, and knowledge of the district and HSD health system. They should have proficiency in computer usage (common office applications) and should demonstrate good understanding of HMIS, DHIS2 and MTrac reporting
