We're making Africa the first cashless continent.
In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In November 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. In 2019, we expanded to Cote d'Ivoire. Now, we have millions of users and are growing fast. Our goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent. And that's where you come in....
How you'll help us achieve it
We're looking for resourceful and outgoing Agent Operations Territory Leads who are excited to help us launch and grow our agent network and sign up more users as we grow our operations. In the earliest phases of the launch you will travel around the country as needed recruiting agents and signing up users. As a Territory Lead you will be responsible either for user growth or agent network management within your territory.
This will involve the following tasks:
• Agent Recruitment – manage a team of agent openers who will recruit and train agents within your territory
• Agent Quality – Ensure that agents in your territory
• are compliant with all legal and policy requirements
• have executed valid contracts
• are trained on the contents of the contract before signing the contract
• are well branded and have the necessary supplies
• Agent Liquidity Management – Coordinate the monitoring of cash / float availability at agent locations in cooperation with our liquidity team
• Risk Management and Routine Visitation – Report on emerging issues and assess the performance of agents in your territory
• Agent Churn – Identify underperforming agents, close them, recover Wave items and equipment, and ensure that branding material is removed
• Be the primary contact person for all agency network acquiring & Wave products in your territory
• Champion excellent customer service among distributors and agents within your territory
Requirements
• Have relevant work experience in in-person sales or agent network management
• Fluent in English and any other local languages for the four major regions on Uganda
• Willing to relocate.
Key details
• You will be based in the specific territory you are responsible for. We are looking to hire in the Central, Eastern, Western and Northern of Uganda.
• Work authorization in Uganda required
• You will report to our Agent Operations Regional Lead.
• You will also receive a monthly allowance for lodging, food, airtime, and transportation.
